Keyword Negation

Postby Catharz Godfoot » Wed Jul 21, 2010 7:09 pm

It seems quite possible that nobody works on DoN or reads these forums anymore. Never the less, there is my suggestion:

When using a keyword to get an item, attack a mobile, or do whatever else, it would be very useful to be able to specify what you don't want to target.

For example, say there's a pile of "golden" equipment, and the helmet is first in the list. You want everything but the helmet. Type "get all.golden~helmet". Sure, it would be nice if the normal syntax was x+y+z rather than x-y-z, but the tilde is common enough and not used for many other things (all I can think of is ~N in names).

A less contrived example: "hit elf~corpse". I don't think that requires any explanation.

Not a bad idea, but there is the option to "kill 3.elf" to kill the 3rd elf, while the first 2 might be corpses. There is the issue of designation, and it can be difficult to tell which is which, but can be determined if you "look 3.elf" or "con 3.elf" first? I can't vouch for the amount of coding activity lately, haven't been around :(
